Dirty Heads, 311, Atmosphere And Rome Save The Best For Last

Dirtyheads, 311, Atmosphere and Rome made their final tour stop in West Palm Beach to a faithful and slightly wet crowd .

For the faithful who first endured.the heat and then subsequently a downpour of rain, the show was worth it. Walking up, I could hear the sound check going on and thought this would be a great show. If it’s possible to be Rock Reggae chill and energized and at the same time, that’s the feeling.

What a fun end of summer vibe. A perfect night. Weather threatened but never became a serious issue and the show went forward as scheduled. I think Amphitheatre continues to book shows that are solid and keeps bringing unbelievably great experiences. The only downside is there isn’t room to grow. Several shows have sold out this year leaving fans wanting more.

Rome came out strong and fun. Rome Ramirez..and his solo venture after leaving Sublime with Rome, had a good set and a strong following. The entire band wore 311 jersey’s. Showing their support for their tour mates. He had a light, a party sort of feel.with some real catchy fun songs and a red solo cup or two.

Atmosphere, who is celebrating 30 years of doing what they love, was an interesting choice for the second act. Slug’s introspection can sometines be a little deep and it is a bit of a departure from the more laid back theme of the night. Talented group and the crowd enjoyed them. It’s difficult to own the stage a as a hip hop artist and DJ but they do.

311 blew up the stage. Production was on par with larger venues and lighting was on point. Great to see and hear. The faithful fans weathered the brief rain and even the lawn was up and singing and dancing for the full set. I always try to be objective when writing these so if I say the show is worth seeing, rest assured it is. Hopefully they will pay another visit soon.

Dirty Heads came out super strong. They fit right in with the South Florida attitude. Most everyone was grooving along with their laid back style. It became a great end of your sing along with Rome making an appearance for “Lay Me Down” and Nick from 311 doing them onstage for “So Glad You Made It”  since it was the last.tour stop, they left it all on the stage.

This was a great show from start to finish.  I wish there were more dates on the horizon. We will keep you posted.
